Newsagent fears latest Tesco threat
NEWSAGENT owners claim the latest Tesco plans could put them out of business.
Niketa Patel, and her husband Bharat, have owned the News Plus shop on Barrack Street for 23 years.
Mrs Patel said plans for an eigth Colchester Tesco on Magdalene Street could put their livliehood at risk.
She said: “Business is already really quiet and we cannot afford to compete.
“We have loaves of bread at 95p and they come along and can afford to sell them for 90p, it’s not fair."
