PARENTS are camped out around their son’s hospital bed after he fell 30ft through the roof of a derelict warehouse.

Teenage free-runner Jordan White, 17, of Regent Street, Rowhedge, suffered severe head injuries and broke several bones following the fall from the warehouse at Rowhedge Wharf.

He remains in a critical condition after being flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance.

Father Kevin Grant, speaking from his bedside, said: “I live near where it happened and his friend came running to get me.

“When I got there I found him lying on the ground.

“All the ambulance and air ambulance staff were terrific. They were there within ten minutes and you couldn’t ask for more or fault their level of commitment.

“It is a terrible thing to have happened and I am just trying to be here for everybody until I get the chance to express my feelings.”

Mr Grant, who is at the hospital with Jordan’s mother Mary, also took time to thank the many people who have expressed their concern and love for Jordan by phone, text and social media sites.
