A POLICE dog has been praised after helping to track down a man suspected of assaulting a bouncer in Colchester.
Officers were called to Bar Ten, Crouch Street, Colchester, after a doorman was assaulted at about 1.45am on Sunday morning.
He was struck in the face and police dog King and his handler, PC Stuart Casserly, arrived to help find the suspect.
King picked up a scent and found a man in Wellington Street hiding behind a locked gate.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed until June.
