A COUPLE have been left devastated after burglars stole the only photos of their newborn baby.
Emma and Tim Scott-Smith, of Wivenhoe, went to bed on Monday night each thinking the other had locked the front door.
When they woke up the next morning they realised burglars had not only stolen iPads and a music player, but a handbag with a camera containing all their photos of their newborn baby boy.
Mrs Scott-Smith said the burglars could keep the items but she has pleaded with them to return the digital camera.
She said: "The electrical items are easily replaceable, but the photographs of my beautiful little boy are not and mean so much to me and my husband.
"I would appeal directly to those who took the camera to return it to the police so that I can download the images and remember those wonderful moments instead of facing the prospect of never seeing them again.”
The burglary took place between 10pm on Monday, April 29, and 7am on Tuesday, April 30.
Anyone with information call Colchester Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
