THE death of a man at a flat in Colchester is not being treated a suspicious, police have revealed.

A man in his forties was pronounced dead at the flat in Turner Road, Colchester on Sunday at 1pm.

Police cordoned off the flats close the junction with Mill Road, run by Colchester Borough Homes.

A man in his forties and a woman in her thirties, believed to be a neighbour and the man’s partner, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both suspects have been released without charge.

An Essex Police spokesman said preliminary post mortem examination results were inconclusive, but the police were no longer treating the death as suspicious.

The man’s identity has not been released.

The case will be passed to the coroner for further investigation.
