WHEN Anna Stopp approached comedian Ross Noble the last thing she expected was for him to help find her a job.

The teenager, who had been handing out CVs in Colchester, just wanted to shake his hand.

Instead Ross, 37, grabbed her CV and ran into shops trying to get Anna, 18, an interview.

Little did Anna know she had become the latest episode in Ross’s new TV show.

Ross, who’s from Newcastle, said: “We’d just stopped off in Colchester for some lunch at Nando’s.

“We were just saying ‘let’s go to Bury St Edmunds’ when Anna came up and said she was walking round with her CV trying to find work.

“We just started going door to door.”

Ross Noble’s Freewheeling is a TV show where the comedian responds to invites to towns across the UK from followers on Twitter.

He then takes part in challenges which are filmed in real time.

On Wednesday Ross and Anna, followed by camera crews, went into a cornish pasty shop and a shoe repair shop before they finally had some luck in Virgin Media.

Ross said: “We did a little roleplay where Anna had to sell me a balloon.

“The assistant manager said she was great but couldn’t offer her a job as he wasn’t the manager.

“So I rang him up and said we were coming round to his house for an interview.”

The pair, followed by the cameras who were filming the show in real-time, headed for the flat.

Manager Paul Dayman, of Virgin Media, met them outside and conducted a short interview before inviting Anna for a proper one on Saturday.

Anna, of Marks Tey, said: “I can’t believe it. Ross Noble helped me get an interview.

“I was doing the housework in the morning and just thought I would go into town and hand out CVs.

“I never thought it would go like this."

The show is expected to air on Dave in October, with Colchester featuring in episode six.
