A COLCHESTER councillor has pledged to investigate whether a big screen could be brought to Castle Park.
Tim Young, councillor responsible for culture, saw footage of thousands of revellers watching Andy Murray win Wimbledon at Christchurch Park in Ipswich.
He has now asked council officers to ask colleagues at Ipswich how a big screen was affordable.
He said: “I think we asked for quotes before and we were offered £6,000 to £8,000.
“With the World Cup coming up next year, it’s something we’re very keen on doing.”
