AN exemplary school has been showered with praise as Ofsted inspectors rated it as outstanding.


Montgomery Infants School and Nursery in Colchester was said to be outstanding in every area - the achievement of its pupils, the quality of its teaching, the behaviour and safety of its pupils and its leadership and management.


Inspectors who visited the school said pupils made outstanding progress and achieved exceptionally well in reading, writing and maths.


They said the achievements were due to the outstanding teaching.


Staff were said to have a wide range of skills and experience and were said to make excellent use of their own interests and talents.


Pupils were also praised and their behaviour was described as exemplary.
