A MAN is being treated for a serious head injury after being assaulted outside a Colchester sandwich shop in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The man, aged in his early 20s, was assaulted outside Subway in St Botolph’s Street just before 3.40am.
Two ambulance crews were called to the incident and found the man unconscious with a head and nose injury.
He was initially taken to Colchester General Hospital but is being treated for his injuries at Queen's Hospital, in Romford.
Detectives are seeking two suspects in connection with the attack.
The first, a white man aged in his late teens to early 20s, is about 6 feet tall, of athletic build and has short, dark, spiky hair.
He was wearing a t-shirt and dark knee length shorts.
The second man was aged in his early 20s, was shorter than the first, also had short, dark hair and wore a black t-shirt with a white circular design on the front, and jeans.
