COLCHESTER train station is blooming for summer.
Floral displays have been put on show at the station, in North Station Road, after an agreement was reached between train operator Greater Anglia, the Essex and Suffolk Rail Partnership and Colchester in Bloom.
In Bloom volunteers committee have created hanging baskets and tub arrangements.
Pam Schomberg, chair of Colchester in Bloom said: “We were delighted to create these new floral displays at Colchester, for the benefit of everyone who visits the station.
“I’d like to thank Greater Anglia and the Community Rail Partnership for their support of this initiative.”
Sham Rashid, Greater Anglia area customer service manager, added: “The new floral displays have made a huge impact at Colchester station, creating an eye catching gateway to the town.
“We’ve had some really positive comments from customers and we’d like to say a very big thank you to the volunteers from Colchester in Bloom who created them; we are delighted with the result.”
