ANIMAL Noise is about to hit the big time.
Radio 1 is to play Colchester band's track, Baddow, every day for a week from Monday.
Animal Noise, who headlined the Colchester Free Festival last year, have had one of their tracks added to the prestigious station’s playlist.
Josh Sandifer, Jack Abbott and Michael Bird said having their music heard by more than 10 million people is overwhelming.
Jack said: "One of the band members was in tears when he heard.
"We played the T in the Park concert on the BBC Introducing stage and met some big names backstage, and this is what has come of it.
“We are always listening to Radio One and the audience who will be listening is incredible, especially during the drivetime shows.
“But it is so hard getting anything heard by presenters and producers at the station, it is difficult to get through to them because everyone wants to be played.
Ben Howard, who runs Keep Colchester Cool, said: “This is a big thing for Colchester, and the last time I think anybody did that from the town was Blur.
“These things don’t happen too often in our little old town.”
