CROWDS of pink runners will descend on Colchester’s Castle Park on Sunday.
Thousands of ladies are taking part in this year’s Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The first race will set off at 11am with the second at 2pm.
Ladies will walk, jog and run the 5km around Colchester while wearing something pink.
Organisers of this weekend’s event have reminded women to stay safe following the heatwave alert.
The Met Office has said temperatures are set to continue around 30C for the weekend.
Gill Burgess, event manager, said: “Wear sunscreen and a hat, and drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
“Water is available to participants at the finish line, but we strongly advise them to bring extra water with them to take out on the course.”
