ESSEX County Council has applied to become a pioneer for health services in move worth £60million.
The Government wants to make 10 local authorities “integrated care pilots” - cutting down on councils, hospitals and charities replicating services.
If Essex’s bid is successful it could increase the amount of funding it receives from £25million to £60million.
There have been more than 110 applications and the winners will be announced by October.
