COLLEGE students raised more than £1,000 for St Helena Hospice.
Youngsters at Shakespeare House, at the Stanway School, in Winstree Road, raised £1,200 for the hospice, which helps to care for people with life limiting illnesses, by holding a non-uniform day, a cake sale and a coffee morning.
All form groups also took part in a £5 challenge.
The house decided to raise money after several children’s parents were cared for by the hospice.
Phyllis Howells, who runs the hospice’s Little Stars programme, was on hand to receive the cheque from pupils on Thursday.
The money will be used to send families on activity weekends and for counselling support.
