HOMEOWNERS are being urged to make sure their sheds and garages are secure after three burglaries took place in one night in Colchester.
Police received reports a garage in Larch Close had been forced open between 8pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday.
Two bicycles and a garden strimmer were stolen.
The two other burglaries were from properties in Harwich Road.
A lawn mower and some diesel were stolen from one shed whilst three forks and a spade were taken from the other.
The garden tools were then used to attempt to open another metal shed but the thieves were not successful.
Police are advising people to ensure their sheds and garages are securely locked.
