In today's Gazette: A man went on the rampage in a pub biting his cousin's nose, spitting blood at a woman and smashing windows.
Jamie Edwards, 24, of Collingwood Road, Colchester, was jailed after the assaults in the Live and Let Die pub in Stanway.
* TV hunk Peter Andre sent fans crazy when he arrived in the village of Tollesbury for the filming of the ITV show 60 Minute Makeover.
About 50 fans heard of the secret visit and arrived to get a glimpse of the star.
* Good Samaritan Chris Shrimpton, who stopped to help the victim of a road accident in Colchester High Street, has spoken of his ordeal when he was subsequently arrested.
Chris, 21, stopped to help after an elderly pedestrian was in collision with another motorcyclist in front of him.
* Headteacher Mark Walter has hit back after Monkwick Junior School in Colchester was rated as inadequate by Ofsted inspectors.
Mr Walter said the inspectors used out of date information - and he received support from Colchester head teacher Jonathan Tippett and parents of children in the school.
