A TEACHER has put all the pieces together to complete the world’s largest commercial jigsaw - after 18 months.

Sue Clemson, of Fernlea, Colchester, considered knocking down the wall between her dining room and lounge to fit the 32,000 piece puzzle in her house.

In the end she managed to fit it in her living room after removing all the furniture.

Mrs Clemson, who is a teacher at The Gilberd School, said: “It’s like a big carpet. We’ve put all the furniture back on top of it.

“It literally goes from the living room window to the dining room door.

“I wanted to do it in a year but realised I would have to do 100 pieces a night every night.

“Of course with GCSE marking it just wasn’t going to happen.”

It is not the first time Mrs Clemson, 53, has solved a large puzzle.

In 2010 she completed what was then the world’s largest jigsaw - a 24,000 piece.

Mrs Clemson said this time, a piece of artwork by Keith Haring, was much harder.

Despite it just fitting in her living room, Mrs Clemson said she would be putting it back in the box.

She said: “It’s just too big.

“I’m going to break it up and put it back in the loft. I’ll have another go at it when I retire.

“If they bring out a bigger one I don’t think I’ll be doing it unfortunately.

“It just wouldn’t fit in my house.”
