A school which teaches children with special needs has won extra funding of more than £1 million for its new building.
Market Field School was allocated £8.5 million earlier this year to build a new school.
The Elmstead Market school was bursting at the seams with three times the number of pupils it was originally due to teach.
But head teacher Gary Smith lobbied for more money to pay for buildings which could cope with 200 pupils.
Now Essex County Council has announced it has secured £13 million of funding from the Department for Education of which £1.5 million will go to Market Field.
