Brazen thieves have stolen a valuable coat of arms from a church in broad daylight.
The royal arms have taken pride of place above the vestry door in All Saints' Church, Wrabness, for almost 200 years.
The theft of the much-loved item from the 12th century church has left churchgoers devastated.
Liz Connor, secretary of the parochial church council, said: "The church is left open during the day because we want people to have access to this beautiful building.
"The thieves must have entered the church during the day and lifted it from the wall.
"This has been very upsetting for a lot of people."
The theft took place at some point during the day on November 27.
The royal arms were made specifically for churches in the early 19th century and the one in Wrabness is believed to be one of only 15 made.
Mrs Connor believes the thieves must have been determined to steal it as it is made of cast iron and about 3ft wide.
