A WELSH activity centre run by County Hall will be sold off.
The Maes y Lade outdoor education centre in the Brecon Beacons made just £57,464 in the last financial year despite costing £150,768 to run.
Owned and run by Essex County Council the centre was closed earlier this year. A decision has now been made to sell the site.
An Essex County Council spokesman said: “The centre was dependent on self-generated funding and was unable to make a profit in spite of reductions to its cost base over the last few years.
“Over the last year we have worked hard to reorganise our outdoor centres within the county so they offer a range of resources and options for young people.”
