THE FAMILY of Royal Military Police officer killed by a crowd of Iraqis ten years ago is suing the Ministry of Defence. Corporal Russell Aston, 30, was killed with five other Red Caps when a 400-strong mob attacked a police station. The six RMP officers were all based at Colchester Garrison.
Cpl Aston’s family have launched legal action, and are suing the MoD for negligence. They said the Red Cap’s commanders did not take reasonable measures to keep them safe.
