PLANS to move Colchester Council front-of-house services into the town centre library have been submitted.
The council will be sharing facilities with Essex County Council, which runs the library, in Trinity Street.
It will take over part of the first floor.
The first floor offices are not currently open to the public.
The proposals include creating an external lift and a walkway to make it accessible to residents.
Colchester Council is moving its offices to the library from the High Street as part of money-saving plans.
The proposals will be decided by September 17.
