TEENAGERS from Colchester have learnt new skills while taking part in National Citizen Service.
Local 16 and 17-year-olds have spent a week at Cherry Tree Camp, Highwoods, for a week of activities such as gardening, music and money sessions, Dragons' Den-style competitions and researching the local area.
National Citizen Service is a new government-run scheme which aims to engage young people with their communities.
Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell visited the group to find out more about the scheme and talk to youngsters about how important the local community is.
- To sign up to take part in NCS during the October 2013 half term, open to 16 and 17-year-olds, visit the NCS East website.
