Fundraisers who have spent the last five and a half years collecting cash to rebuild their village hall are celebrating reaching their target.
Volunteers at Aldham Village Hall have collected more than £40,000 through a wide variety of fundraisers and been awarded grants worth £106,500.
The vital cash will be used to rebuild the main sections of the Green Road hall, which has been held up by metal poles since 2007 due to rotting roof timbers.
Anne Fulcher, a member of the hall’s fundraising committee, said: “This means that we will have a good village hall to take us in to the future years.
“The hall is an important building as it is really the hub of our village."
