A ONE-HOUR performance from a gospel choir has been put up for auction to raise money for St Helena Hospice.

An evening with Exaltation! will go under the hammer in a silent auction to raise money for the Colchester-based solicitors Birkett Long’s £50 challenge.

As part of the challenge, 25 teams must turn an initial £50 into as much money as possible, to go towards the hospice.

Jenny Skingsley, marketing manager at the firm, set up the choir in 2003 and has performed at over a hundred weddings, parties, churches and other events.

She said: “We are really pleased to take part in the challenge and offer a performance to the highest bidder.

“We really enjoy what we do and are so glad to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause as St Helena Hospice.”

To bid, go to exaltationchoir.co.uk.

The winner will be announced at Exaltation’s 10th anniversary concert on Saturday, October 5, at St Andrew’s Church, in Parsonage Street, Halstead.
