FORMAL plans have been entered for a housing development in a north Colchester village.
Property company Thomas Bates and Son hope to build 45 homes at Hill Farm in Boxted.
The site, opposite St Peter’s Primary School, was formerly used as a light industrial estate and the company had hoped to create a small business park on the land.
However the growth of other sites as caused a lack of interest despite extensive marketing, leading the owners to seek planning permission for housing.
- The planning permission asks for one flat over a garage, six two-bedroom homes, 13 three-beds and 25 four-bed homes, including two with offices.
