PET pooches will be the centre of attention in Colchester later this month.
Dog behaviourists, a pet portrait artist and animal charities will come together for Bark in the Park.
Colchester Council has launched the event to raise dog awareness and bring dog owners together.
Dog shows and dog display teams will take over Castle Park for the day.
A dog group will even be trying to find the dog that can jump the furthest into a 40ft pool of water.
Lesley Scott-Boutell, borough councillor for Colchester who has two dogs, said: “It’s going to be a fantastic day.
“We have so many wonderful events on for people to enjoy.
“The best thing is dogs get in free.”
Bark in the Park takes place on Sunday, August 18 from 10am.
Adults cost £2 and children also get in free.
