The number of Colchester residents registered to vote has gone up for the second year running.
However, nearly a fifth of households are still not on the list.
Registration levels were up 1.9 per cent on 2005 and the size of the electorate increased by 1.2 per cent, as a result of new homes developments.
The 2006/07 version of the town's register of electors contains 121,055 names and accounts for 82 per cent of homes, with the occupants of the remaining 18 per cent of homes failing to return their forms.
To be added to the list via the rolling registration system, contact the electoral services team on 01206 282820 or e-mail elections@ colchester.gov.uk for an application form.
