UPDATED:
A MAN found dead in a Greenstead flat has been named locally.
Police and paramedics were called to a flat at the corner of Avon Way and Charles Pell Road in Colchester yesterday evening.
A police cordon was set up, shutting off the block, and officers spent several hours investigating the unexpected death.
The death of a man aged in his 30s is no longer being treated as suspicious.
The man has been named locally as 34-year-old Neil Harvey, of Laing Road, Colchester.
A file will be passed to the coroner who will now look into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The police cordon was taken down around the block at about 8pm.
Forensic officers remained on scene into the night to examine the first floor flat.
A spokesman for Essex Police confirmed: "Police were called to an address in Avon Way, Colchester, shortly before 6pm last night after the body of a man aged in his 30s was found.
"There were no suspicious circumstances.
"A report is being prepared for the coroner."
