Essex could enjoy blazing temperatures in the next few days, but the summer sunshine is set to come to an abrupt halt this weekend.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain across the region for Saturday.
A forecast is warning of heavy, thundery showers and the possibility of "significant flooding".
Before the rain arrives, temperatures are predicted to reach 28C on Friday.
