VAN drivers have been warned not to leave valuable tools in vehicles overnight.
Officers were called to two incidents in The Commons, Colchester, overnight between June 23 and 24.
Hundreds of pounds worth of tools were stolen.
Police want to hear from anyone who has been offered second hand tools to buy.
Items taken include a Makita cordless drill and jigsaw, Erbauer electric sander and hammer drill, and a Dewalt laser level.
The other victim lost a B&Q chainsaw, and three spirit levels.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Karen Mortimer at Colchester Police Station on 101.
