SEARCHES were launched after screams were heard coming from near Castle Park.
Essex Police received calls from people, close to the spot Jim Attfield was murdered, during the early hours of this morning.
Officers rushed to the area and the helicopter was scrambled to help but nobody was found.
A further search was carried out at first light without success.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Police attended Castle Park in the early hours today following reports from members of the public they heard screaming coming from the park.
"A full search was carried out by foot and air, and again at first light, but nothing was found."
The calls were made with good intent.
Enquiries are ongoing.
