COMMUNITY safety, dog fouling and behaviour and problem parking will be tackled during a local authority blitz of Tiptree this Thursday.
A survey found the three issues were top of the list of concerns of village residents ahead of this week’s Safer Colchester Partnership community day of action.
To tackle concerns, Essex Police’s mobile police office will park at Tesco to provide crime prevention advice, report incidents or tell of concerns in confidence.
There will also be enforcement operations to tackle crime and the fear of crime.
Meanwhile, Colchester Council zone staff will be cleaning up the area and setting up base at the Asda car park from 9am to 3.30pm.
There will also be a laptop linked to Essex County Council, allowing residents to report potholes and cracked pavements.
Council animal wardens and Connors Legacy dog behaviourists will be on hand to provide free dog chipping, advice and the best ways to train your dog.
Also planned is a Give and Take event at Tiptree Library, where villagers can bring an unwanted item and swap it for something else.
With parking highlighted as an issue, two North Essex Parking Partnership wardens and the “spy car” will patrol hotspots and schools during opening and closing hours.
Also attending will be Colchester Borough Homes, Essex Fire and Rescue, Essex Probation, Trading Standards, the DVLA, the Youth Offending Team and the Environment Agency.
After the “day of action”, the project will spend a further three months providing extra resources to tackle speeding, parking, dogs, litter and more.
