FRESH from commentating on her successors at the Commonwealth Games, Olympic medal-winning gymnast Beth Tweddle opened the newly expanded Colchester School of Gymnastics.

Miss Tweddle officially cut the ribbon at the Brinkley Grove Road school, which has more than doubled in size following the addition of a £500,000 second hall.

The Dancing on Ice star watched a series of demonstrations by the school’s members and staff including freestyle, floor displays and trampolining.

She then spent more than an hour posing for pictures and signing autographs for the scores of young gymnasts and members of the public who gathered to meet her.
