A MOTHER and child were treated by paramedics after careering off the road and crashing into a tree.
The ambulance service were called just after noon following a crash on Nayland Road, near the Rose and Crown Pub in Great Horkesley.
The silver Audi Q7 crashed near the the junction with Fish Pond Hill.
At the same time there was another accident on the exit slip road for the A120 near Ardleigh.
The accident blocked the slip road to the A1232.
A woman aged in her 20s was treated at the scene by paramedics following the crash involving a red Ka.
She had to be cut free by firefighters after being trapped for just under an hour.
She was taken to Colchester General Hospital with injuries which were not life threatening.
