A man says his marriage was put under strain when a hospital incorrectly diagnosed him with genital herpes.
Paul Jones, 47, of Kelvedon, claims doctors told him he had a sexually transmitted infection, without performing swab tests.
After his complaint, he was correctly diagnosed with a bacterial infection.
But to make matters worse, Mr Jones says doctors at Colchester General Hospital botched his circumcision, leaving him in constant pain.
A spokesman for Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are sorry and disappointed Mr Jones has some concerns about his care and treatment.
"He has made a formal complaint and we will respond with our findings as soon as we have completed our investigation.”
