FIREFIGHTERS attended three incidents during an hour strike on Saturday night.
Members of the Fire Brigades Union were taking strike action between 10.59pm and 11.59pm as part of a national dispute with Government over planned changes to firefighter pensions.
During that time fire crews released two youngsters who had got locked in a flat in Clacton before being called to someone trapped in a bathroom in Hutton – who was released before the arrival of the crew.
In Colchester, working crews dealt with a car fire in Pill Box Walk. The vehicle was in a car port and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to tackle the fire.
An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause.
A further two hour strike is planned for today between 12pm and 2pm and another one hour strike between 10.59pm and 11.59pm.
Strikes are planned for everyday until next Saturday, August 16.
