U’S staff took a break from preparing for last night’s crunch game to show the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport around their stadium.
Sajid Javid visited Weston Homes Community Stadium yesterday to support Will Quince’s Conservative parliamentary campaign.
Mr Javid has visited several clubs during the election campaign. He said: “This is one of the most impressive in terms of what they have done for the community.
“It was good to hear about the work they do across the community, especially young people, both in terms of football and ways to build confidence and trying to get them out more.”
Mr Quince said he wanted to bring Mr Javid to the Weston Homes Community Stadium as the club was recently named Family Club of the Year.
They also visited Indulgence Patisserie in Clough Road, Colchester, to find out about the growing business.
