NEW cycle lanes are set to be installed around Stanway.
The lanes will link the route with Lexden to allow cyclists to get to the town centre along designated lanes.
A report confirming the funding stated: “The cycle improvements will offer either segregated or on-road lane designated cycle facilities which will cater for cyclists not normally confident alongside general traffic.”
Road safety campaigner Lesley Scott-Bouttell, who lives in Stanway, and who has been campaigning for lower speed limits in Stanway, said: “Cycle lanes are something else I was pushing for.
“When Colchester became a cycle town it stopped at the border with Stanway.
“I know there are a lot of residents who will use them as long as it is done in the right way
