FLOWER POWER: A group of young people gave up their time to give a garden a makeover.
As part of the National Citizen initiative, organised by Colchester Youth Service, the 15 volunteers spent six hours working on the garden outside Monkwick Junior School, in School Road.
Colchester councillor Dave Harris provided the tools and flowers, and the team spent about six hours working at the site.
Mr Harris said: “They were so enthusiastic. I’m so impressed.
It’s made such a difference in the community. They did a great job.
They were a delight to work with.”
Pictured with Mr Harris are Mark Ballard, of the Youth Service, Charlotte Knights, Jack Richardson, Felicity Coan and Lamidri Lakshman.
