A GROUP of teenagers baked cakes to raise more than £160 for Colchester Youth Enquiry Service.
The team of 12 held the cake sale outside the service’s Trinity Street home as part of the National Citizen Service initiative.
Ashley Gillam, a youth worker for Essex County Council, said: “ “They sold them to whoever was passing by.
“The service is one all of them access at some point or another.”
Ashley said the team had enjoyed the work.
She added: “They have all made lots of new friends – they didn’t know each other before, as they all came from different schools.”
The National Citizen Service helps young people build skills for work and life, while taking on challenges and meeting new friends.
