A CARER stole from an Alzheimer’s patient she was supposed to be helping.
Sharon Furner, 49, of St Anne’s estate, Colchester, was caught on camera stealing from the 89-year-old woman and was convicted at Ipswich Crown Court.
The Crown Prosecution Service said the victim’s family became concerned when her money seemed to be getting spent very quickly and installed cameras in the home where she lived.
Furner was caught on camera on March 30, 2014, and again the next day.
The evidence was passed to police and Furner was charged with two counts of theft.
Furner, who denied the charges throughout, was found guilty and will be sentenced in late September or early October.
