FIRE crews extinguished a fire aboard a boat.
The vessel was moored at King Edward Quay at the Hythe when the blaze broke out just before 9am on Saturday.
Two crews from Colchester attended and used a hose reel jet to dampen the flames and a ventilation fan to clear the boat of smoke.
The fire was out by 9.25am.
