TWO north Essex nurses face being struck off.
The pair are facing charges from the Nursing and Midwifery Council and are due to go before a disciplinary panel later this month.
Amanda Plater faces two charges of having an inappropriate and sexual relationship with a person using the North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, which has responsibility for mental health in the area.
Miss Plater, who worked at the trust at the time, is alleged to have had the relationship between December 2011 and July 2014.
The council states her fitness to practice is now impaired.
A second nurse, Carol Thorington, is charged with failing to demonstrate the standard of knowledge, skill and judgement required for practice without supervision.
The nurse worked as a neonatal outreach Nurse at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust between May 2009 and March 2014.
During that time, it is alleged she did not demonstrate the required skills when using nasogastric tubes [used for feeding babies] on one or more occasions.
She is also charged with not providing feeding advice to parents or communicating well with parents.
In addition, she also faces one count of not keeping accurate patient records or communicating with her colleagues.
The panel will also decide on an allegation Miss Thorington did not comply with conditions attached to supervised practice at the Turner Road neonatal unit, between March 2014 and January 2015.
She is also alleged to have tried to hide the fact that she had been made the subject of a fitness to practice investigation.
The council concludes the charges by stating her fitness to practice is now impaired.
Both cases will be heard at NMC headquarters in London.
