An elderly cyclist has been taken to hospital with a head injury after he collided with a car.
The man was lying in Church Road, Tiptree, when ambulances arrived on scene at about 9am.
Crews said he had a cut head and was complaining of leg pain. He was taken to Colchester General Hospital where he is understood to still be undergoing treatment.
The driver of the car, a middle-aged woman, had to be cut free from the wreckage by fire crews. She was also taken to hospital for treatment for neck pain.
Paramedics also treated a 52-year-old woman who was sitting in her parked car when it was shunted in the crash.
She is currently being treated for serious rib injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
