Crowds flocked to Harwich port to welcome a new vessel.
The Trinity House Vessel (THV) Galatea arrived in her home port for the first time on Monday, shortly after 9.30am.
The ship docked alongside the Trinity House pier after completing a voyage over the weekend from Poland, and was greeted by a crowd of children lined up on the quayside. The multi-function vessel will be able to help Trinity House, on Harwich Quay, in providing aids to navigation.
She will also be required to undertake maintenance work, buoy deployment and towing, by going around the coast of England, Wales and the Channel Islands, which is the main responsibility of Trinity House.
