Jonathan Dadds is one of Colchester’s true music heroes regularly promoting local bands and putting on cracking concerts. To mark the end of the year he’s doing another one with Yr Poetry all the way from Birmingham to perform alongside three cracking local acts The Hemingways, Rubber Jaw, and Lawrence & Cow.

It’s the last tour of the year for the town’s High Steward and former MP as he continues his very own quest of raising enough money to build a statue to the Taylor Sisters who wrote Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. And with the popularity of these tours, he can’t be far off now.

Now that the hullabaloo has all died down with the Essex artist’s visit this week, time to enjoy the show itself, which may be smaller than you might hope for but is nonetheless perfectly formed. Worth seeing if only for those stunning tapestries.
