Firefighters were called to a blazing lorry on the A12 at rush hour.
Crews from Coggeshall, Tiptree and Witham were called to the blaze at Kelvedon at 8.20am yesterday.
They used two sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets and put the fire out, which was described as well alight, in under 20 minutes.
Traffic was not affected by the incident.
A lorry which hit the central reservation on the A120 near the Ardleigh Crown Interchange caused jams tailing back to Horlsey Cross during yesterday morning's rush hour.
