COLCHESTER pub the Norfolk is set to close.
The pub in North Station Road, will shut its doors now a sale has been agreed.
As one of Greene King’s tenanted venues, it has been temporarily run by a holding company after the previous operator left.
Although it has not officially been sold, the Norfolk will stop operating in the meantime.
A spokesman for Greene King said: “As a leading pub operator and brewer, we are committed to running high quality community pubs.
“To be able to continue investing in our estate, from time to time we have to make the difficult decision to sell a pub.
“Therefore, after much consideration, we decided to put the Norfolk on the market and a sale has now been agreed in principle.”
Greene King is unable to disclose who the new potential owners are.
