A MAN will appear in court tomorrow to face multiple offences in connection with a collision where a van smashed into police cars, a bus and a parked car.
The crash happened just after 8am in Lexden Road, Colchester, on Friday.
Ben Moisey, 32, will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court to face charges including: driving dangerous, failing to stop when required, driving without insurance or an MOT, failing to provide a specimen and assaulting a constable and criminal damage.
Moisey, of Ilex Close, Colchester, has been remanded in custody ahead of his court appearance.
It is understood the red Ford Transit van was being pursused by police.
It then hit three police cars, a bus and a parked car before hitting an electrical box and a post box.
The people inside then got out and officers launched a search of the area.
They also arrested a 35-year-old woman in connection with the incident but has been released with no further action.
Anyone who saw any of the crashes, have dash cam footage or any information about the people inside the van should call Colchester police on 101 quoting reference 197 of June 8.
